The Second Coming Of Gluttony

Synopsis of The Second Coming Of Gluttony

Have you ever wished you could go back and do things differently? That's what happens to Jihoo Seol. On the verge of death, he gets a second chance at life. But it's not all smooth sailing. He only remembers bits and pieces of his future – weird dreams and crazy luck that eventually runs out. Things go downhill fast, and he's left desperate and alone. Then, a mysterious woman shows up with an offer that could change everything.

A Brief Review of The Second Coming Of Gluttony

Here's the deal: Everyone knows this is based on a super popular novel, and this adaptation is a mess. If this was an original story, I might have given it a better rating because it's got a unique vibe compared to other stuff I've read. But since they tried to adapt a well-loved novel and did a pretty bad job, it gets a low score from me.

First off, the story itself is interesting, but the pacing is all over the place, especially later on. I won't go into too much detail because it's easier to just check out the manhwa for yourself, especially since it's short and doesn't really explain much. Honestly, if you want to actually enjoy this story (and it has potential!), go read the novel. The manhwa skips so much dialogue and important details that you're often left wondering what's going on. And in the later chapters, they cut out like 3/4 of the novel's content! We're talking missed action scenes, character development, world-building – the whole package. The story feels rushed and incomplete, and the novel is just way better.

The art isn't terrible, but compared to modern stuff like "Solo Leveling," it's lacking. With the story being so rushed, you'd think they'd at least make the art enjoyable, right? Nope. It's pretty rough.

As for the characters, they're as rushed and bland as the story. The side characters get zero development, and even the main character's development is bare minimum compared to the novel. Everyone feels one-dimensional.

Overall, this adaptation is a letdown, especially considering how awesome the novel is. It's lacking in every area.
